Marguerite Ahlstrom, LMT, BCTMB

Marguerite completed the 720 hour program at the Minneapolis School of Massage and Bodywork in 2004. Since this time, she has added  an impressive 300+ hours of continuing education in many areas that are beneficial to her clients. These include courses in Lymph Drainage, Craniosacral Therapy, Infant and Pediatric Massage and Pathology for Massage Therapists.

She and her spouse Jeff live in south Minneapolis.  In their free time they are either traveling or planning their next trip!

When asked about her work and experience, she summed it up well. “If you’re looking for a therapist who works with your body, takes time to prepare you for deep work and ranges from light touch to deep tissue, I’m a good choice. If you only benefit from deep work or you like a massage that hurts, I’m probably not your Massage Therapist.  And that’s okay.”

Eleanor S., LMT

I completed my two year East-West Bodywork program at CenterPoint Shiatsu & Massage School & Clinic in 2014. There I learned to blend eastern and western bodywork techniques to create unique, individualized session for each client. I am a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals.

Many clients tell me that I have worked on muscles that have never before been addressed in a massage, and how much of a difference that attention has made, both physically and emotionally. I particularly love working around the pelvis, abdomen, and any place I can go into detail or that is often ignored. I utilize a variety of techniques including trigger point, Swedish, deep tissue, therapeutic, rehabilitative, connective tissue, athletic/sports, and pre/postnatal massage, as well as shiatsu, reflexology, assisted stretching, and mobility work. My work is generally slow and methodical, working with the body rather than in opposition to it. I love to help people sustainably continue to do the things they love to do.

Specialties:

Therapeutic, trigger point, integrated shiatsu, reflexology, sports, pre/postnatal, stretching, active mobility.

In the Office:

Monday: 1:00pm-4:00pm

Wednesday: 10:00am-4:30pm

Massage Therapy FAQ

What types of massages do you offer?

All kinds! Currently we offer therapeutic, deep tissue, Swedish, craniosacral, lymphatic drainage and sports massage. Many of our therapists are happy to incorporate a few different types into one session. Just ask!

How much pressure do you use?

This differs depending on which therapist you see. If you want a specific pressure, be sure to tell the front desk when you schedule your session. They will be sure to match you with the therapist who will fit your needs.

In general, our therapists work within your comfort range. Communicate throughout the massage if you would like more or less pressure. If you are holding your breath, chances are the pressure is too intense.

Did you go to school to be a massage therapist?

Yes. The city of St.Paul requires 500 hours of schooling from a massage school and a city license. Most schools offer education in several modalities of massage. Courses range from CPR to anatomy, ethics, business and more.
